Butcha Man, whose real name is Mark Bugembe, is a Ugandan musician and former close associate of Bobi Wine. He gained fame in 2005 with his hit song Lwaki Temumatira?, which was well received in the local music scene.
In 2019, he was appointed as President Museveni's advisor on Ghetto Affairs, a move seen as part of the president's strategy to counter Bobi Wine's influence, especially in the lead-up to the 2021 elections
Aside from music, Butcha Man has also been involved in political activities. In 2020, he made headlines when he was arrested and reportedly beaten by the police after leading a protest against a meeting by the National Environment Management Authority (NEMA) in Makindye
